Small Scale Jack Fruit Processing Machinery Exhibition and Competition in connection with the ‘International workshop on production, value addition and marketing of Jackfruit’ on 09th August 2017, 10am, at Regional Agricultural Research Station (Kerala Agricultural University), Ambalavayal, Wayanad

Rules and regulations

  • Participants should report at the venue at 9.30 am
  • Exhibited machines should be novel and innovative
  • Machines should be women friendly and must be suited to small scale value addition and processing of jack fruit
  • Machineries should be displayed at the expense of the participant
  • Participant should remain near the display during the time of judgment
  • Video demonstrating its operation is desired
  • Judgment will be based on the cost, simplicity and quality of the product
  • The top three winners of the exhibition competition will be awarded attractive cash prizes (1st prize – Rs. 2 lakhs, 2nd prize – Rs 1 lakh, 3rd prize – Rs 50000) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol shall be strictly adhered to

Rules and regulations

  • Participants should report at the venue at 9.30 am
  • Participants will be provided an exhibition space with a table and chair
  • Exhibits must be clean without any damage
  • Participants are free to exhibit as many number of jackfruits
  • No artificial coloring, leaf shine, sprays, oiling is allowed.
  • Participant should remain near the display during the time of evaluation
  • Competitors should be able to clear queries regarding the exhibits during judgement
  • The top three winners of the jack fruit exhibition competition will be awarded with attractive cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate
  • Judgment will be based on the diversity of varieties, overall acceptability & mode of display
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final

Rules and regulations

  • Photographs must not bear the name of the photographer, agency, or publication, or any other information other than code number issued by the organization committee at the time of registration.
  • Only unedited photographs related to jack fruit will be considered for judgment
  • Printed photographs of size 12 x 16 inches should be presented for evaluation
  • Both soft and hard copies of the photographs should be submitted
  • The top three winners of the photography competition will be awarded attractive cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final

Jack fruit cooking competition

Jack fruit cooking competition in connection with ‘International workshop on production, value addition and marketing of Jackfruit’ on 13th August 2017, 10am-1pm, at Regional Agricultural Research Station (Kerala Agricultural University), Ambalavayal, Wayanad

Rules and regulations

  • Participants should report at the venue at 9.30 am
  • Must register as an individual not as a team
  • Competitor can make maximum number of dishes out of jack fruit in the stipulated time
  • Apart from table and chair, participant should bring all items necessary to present and plate your dish
  • Jack fruit (tender/mature/ripe) must be the major ingredient in the dish
  • Usage of Jack fruit bi‐products such as jack fruit powder, jack fruit pudding, jack fruit icecream etc. as the main ingredient will be disqualified. You may however use it as secondary ingredient.
  • Participants must bring enough material sufficient to serve at least 4 portions
  • Participants should remain near the display until the end of competition.
  • Top three winners of the cooking competition will be awarded with attractive cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol will be strictly followed

Presentation requirements

  • Participant will be given 20 minutes to present your dishes.
  • Participant should be able to clear queries regarding the exhibits during the judgement
  • Participant must display your code number near your dish name
  • Participant must keep printed copies of the recipe and please come prepared for that
  • Participant  should portion a part of his/her dish into tasting cups provided at the venue  for judges/audience
  • There will not be any heating equipment or refrigeration provided  at the venue
  • Participants may bring their own decoration materials for more elegancy and style in presentation.

Award for the best exhibition stall

In connection with the ‘International workshop on production, value addition and marketing of Jackfruit’ at Regional Agricultural Research Station (Kerala Agricultural University), Ambalavayal, Wayanad we will be honoring the best exhibition stall among all the participants with an amount of Rs 50000/- and merit certificate.

The judgement will be based upon the product diversity on display, attractiveness, mode of display, overall appeal and response of the visitors. This will encourage all the exhibitors to raise the level, thus improving the quality of the exhibition. The decision of the judgement committee will be final.

The jackfruit procession

Processions promoting jackfruit originating from all the districts of Kerala and culminating at the workshop venue would help publicise the event to a great extent. Such an arrangement has been made under the auspices of the Ministry for Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare supporting vehicles decorated with jackfruit, its products and tablos to ply the length and breadth of the state. The most appealing procession reaching the station shall be rewarded with attractive prizes
