We are conducting the following competitions in connection with the International Symposium on Technology Intervention for Effective Utilization and Marketing of Jackfruit

Venue: Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ambalavayal, (KAU), Wayanad, Kerala

“BEST JACK FRUIT” exhibition & competition

BEST JACK FRUIT” exhibition & competition on 09th July 2018 - 10am-1pm (Day 1)

Rules and regulations

  • Participants should report at the venue at 9.30 am
  • Participants will be provided an exhibition space with a table and chair
  •  Exhibits must be clean without any damage
  • Participants are free to exhibit as many number of jackfruit as possible
  • No artificial coloring, leaf shine, sprays, oiling is allowed.
  • Participant should remain near the display during the time of evaluation
  • Competitor should be able to clear queries regarding the exhibits during judgement
  • The top three winners of the jack fruit exhibition competition will be awarded with cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificate while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate
  • Judgment will be based on the diversity of varieties, overall acceptability & mode of display
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol will be strictly followed

Jack fruit carving competition

Jack fruit carving competition on 10th July 2018, 10am-1pm (Day 2)

Rules and regulations

  • Participants should report the venue at 9.30 am
  • Competitors will be supplied with a table and chair only
  • All the provisions required for the carving competition, including jack fruit must be met by the participant
  • Participant should remain near the display during the time of judgment
  • The top three winners of the carving competition will be awarded with cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol will be strictly adhered to.

Jack fruit cooking competition

Jack fruit cooking competition on 11th July 2018, 10am-1pm (Day 3)

Rules and regulations

  • Participant should report at the venue at 9.30 am
  • Participant must register as an individual (not as a team)
  • Competitor can make maximum number of dishes out of jack fruit in the stipulated time
  • Apart from table and chair, participant should bring all items necessary to present and plate your dish
  • Jack fruit (tender/mature/ripe) must be the major ingredient in the dish
  • Usage of Jack fruit bi‐products such as jack fruit powder, jack fruit pudding, jack fruit icecream etc. as the main ingredient will be disqualified. The participant may however use it as secondary ingredients.
  • Participants must bring material sufficient enough to serve 4 portions
  • Participants should remain near the display until the end of show.
  • The top three winners of the cooking competition will be awarded with cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol will be strictly followed
  • Presentation requirements
  • Participant will be given 20 minutes to present his/her dishes.
  • Participant should be able to clear queries regarding the exhibits during the judgement
  • Participant must display his/her code number near the dish
  • Participant must keep printed copies of the recipe during the judgment
  • Participant  should portion a part of his/her dish into tasting cups provided at the venue  for judges/invited delegates
  • There will not be any heating equipment or refrigeration provided  at the venue
  • Participants may bring their own decoration materials for better elegance and style for presentation.

Jack fruit photography competition

Jack fruit photography competition on 12th July 2018, 10am-1pm (Day 4)

Rules and regulations

  • Photographs must not bear the name of the photographer, agency, or publication, or any other information than the code number issued by the organizing committee at the time of registration.
  • Only unedited photographs related to jack fruit will be considered for judgment
  • Both soft and hard copies of the photographs should be submitted by the participant.
  • The evaluation will be purely based on the soft copy of the photograph, which should be submitted in a CD ROM. Printed photographs of size 12 x 16 inches should be presented for exhibition.
  • The top three winners of the photography competition will be awarded with cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.5000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.2000/-, 3rd prize - Rs.1000/-) and merit certificates while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol should be strictly adhered to

Jack fruit painting competition

Jack fruit painting competition on 14th July 2018, 10am-1pm (Day 6)

Rules and regulations

  • Participants should report at the venue at 9.30 am
  • Competitors must bring all the materials required for the painting competition
  • The competition will be conducted for students of three categories (Class 1-4, class 5-7, class 8-10).
  • The top two winners of each category will be awarded with cash prizes (1st prize – Rs.2000/-, 2nd prize – Rs.1000/-, and merit certificate while all the participants will be awarded with a participation certificate.
  • Decision of the judging committee will be final
  • Green protocol shall be strictly adhere to
